BO's secret police

Posted by parrotpatriot on August 6, 2009

A few months ago, when the Department of Homeland Security suggested I might be a domestic terrorist in a report they put out, I decided it was time to delete all the secret police** off my Facebook page. Some of them had left me first, of course, not being able to come up with any evidence that I was wrong. Much easier to just consider the debate over, right? Glenn Beck says in his new book, Common Sense:

“’The debate is over’ is a line that’s used only by those who realize they would never win a debate.”

Now, it seems that move might have been prudent given the news of the email sent by the White House asking for people to report anything they hear that sounds “fishy” from opponents of heatlh care so-called reform. Then I told you about the White House video in my post entitled “Truth.”  And then, of course, there was the cars program website saying if you click OK your computer and everything on it becomes property of the federal government.  (Chills again). I feel as though I’m being targeted – don’t you? It feels like the net is hovering over our heads and any moment it’s going to drop around us and they are going to say, “Gotcha!”

“I am not aware of any precedent for a president asking American citizens to report their fellow citizens to the White House for pure political speech that is deemed ‘fishy’ or otherwise inimical to the White House’s political interests,” Corynyn wrote. “By requesting that citizens send ‘fishy’ e-mails to the White House, it is inevitable that the names, e-mail and private speech of U.S. citizens will be reported to the White House.”

With everything else going on, it makes you wonder if you should start worrying about little things that are going on in the background. Like this Congressional Budget Office report that came out today. Although educated by one of the best government indoctrination centers in Georgia, I’m not an attorney and therefore am not completely confident of my understanding of this. That said, I do get suspicious when I see the President is being given new powers over the SEC:

“H.R. 885 would amend the Inspector General Act of 1978 to require that future Inspectors General be appointed by the President rather than their respective agency heads. This requirement would apply to Inspectors General of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the National Credit Union Administration, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, and the Securities and Exchange Commission.”

“To achieve his goals, Stalin created a new kind of government, today called a totalitarian state. In a totalitarian state, the government is a single-party dictatorship that controls every aspect of the lives of its citizens. Individual rights count for nothing. Citizens must obey the government without question, and critics are silenced.”

“… Stalin used propaganda, censorship, and terror to force his will on the Soviet people. Government newspapers glorified work and Stalin himself. Secret police spied on citizens, and anyone who refused to praise Stalin and the state faced severe punishment, even death”
